Nintendo Switch players can play two fan-favourite Pokémon games completely free – and they’re available now | The Sun

NINTENDO has just announced two new free Pokémon games coming to Nintendo Switch.

Revealed during the August Pokémon Presents, Nintendo owners can play it right now.

In order to claim this game and play, you’ll first need to be subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online.

You’ll only require the cheapest level of the service for one game, and the Expansion Pack for the other, though this is much less costly than Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus.

The first is the Pokémon Trading Card Game is a fan-favourite game from the series originally released for the Game Boy.

Unlike Pokémon TCG Live, another free Pokémon game, you don’t play against others online.

Instead, there is a story with different leaders, and an Elite 4 that you have to beat in order to become the champion.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game features a full story, and helps players to get to grips with one of Pokémon’s most popular formats.

The second is Pokémon Stadium 2 for the Nintendo 64, including all of the fan-favourite mini-games.

The original Stadium was already on the service and was popular with Nintendo fans.

Pokémon is currently holding the Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama, Japan.

The best players from around the world will gather in the city to compete in Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Go, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and Pokémon TCG tournaments.

Scarlet & Violet and TCG take centre stage, as all six finals are played on Championship Sunday.

In order to play Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Stadium 2, you will first need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

You can then go to the Nintendo Online Store via your console, and download the Game Boy and N64 app for free.

From here, you can go into the apps and play Pokémon Trading Card Game or Pokémon Stadium 2 here.

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have access to hundreds of games from the Nintendo’s classic library of games.
