‘Timeless’ flooring designs to ‘boost’ the value of your home

Cleaning hack: TikTok user shares method for carpet cleaning

Johanna Constantinou, brand communications director at Tapi, told Express.co.uk: “We’re seeing big increases from people interested around eco-friendly flooring options, as we all look at how we can do our bit for the home that we share.

“Ultimately, any modern and well-kept floors are likely going to boost the value of your home as they increase the desirability of your home.

“If you’re concerned about the floors, you’re choosing to impact the value of your home, then it may be good to choose something that is timeless, such as wood-effect vinyl, a stone-effect LVT, or a woollen carpet.”

1. Wool carpets

Wool carpets provide a robust, durable option for those looking to install some comfort without compromising quality, according to the experts.

Johanna also said that wool carpets are exceptional for retaining warmth and were used in British homes before central heating existed, although seen as a luxury.

These options are now a fantastic choice for those looking to reduce their heating bills.

2. Colourful carpets

Johanna said: “Simultaneously, there is a growing desire to invest more into the home to create a relaxing sanctuary. Colours that will be popular include blues, greens, and golds – both in a calming context and a bold, botanical way.

“We should see this in the form of carpets especially, although there are some whimsical vinyl options that would suit the biophilic trend.”

3. Herringbone

Herringbone flooring has always been a popular option for homeowners, making a small room look much lighter and brighter.

While real wood herringbone can be extremely expensive, it also comes in the form of vinyl and carpet, providing multiple options for Britons.

Poor flooring could be a deterrent to buyers, either offering a lower price on a property or avoiding it altogether.

4. Patterned vinyl

Along with the popularity of vinyl has come with the popularity of patterned vinyl, ideal for use in any room.

There are multiple options on the market, including bold exciting patterns as well as colours.

The pro noted: “The styling opportunities are endless with patterned vinyl, and this will be an exciting concept for people who want to take their interiors to the next level.”
